PSL 2026 Retained Rules – All Teams Retained Player List Overview

According to the retention rules announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board, the player categories currently followed in Pakistan include Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Emerging.

The remaining two teams, Hyderabad and Sialkot, will also select four players from those released by other franchises, following the same category-wise formula.

Retained Players List for PSL 11

All PSL teams will be allowed to retain players from only four out of these five categories, with the retention conditions that only one player can be retained from each selected category.

Islamabad United Retained Players 2026

Islamabad United would ideally want to retain Shadab Khan, and he is expected to be placed in the Platinum category.

In addition, Salman Agha were part of the Diamond category. It appears difficult for Islamabad United to retain both, and there is a strong possibility that one of them could be acquired later through the auction to maintain team balance.

Mohammad Nawaz is likely to retain is Gold category.

Peshawar Zalmi Retained Players 2026

PZ has two top Platinum-category players: Babar Azam and Saim Ayub. Naturally, only one can be retained. Due to brand value, Peshawar Zalmi is expected to prioritize Babar Azam, while Saim Ayub may be seen playing for another team, possibly Hyderabad, where his association could influence the decision.

Based on last season’s categories, other Gold-category players included Asif Ali, Salman Irshad, Hussain Talat, and Arshad Iqbal, along with Sufiyan Muqeem, Khurram Shahzad, and Naseemullah Khan. Among these, Hussain Talat appears to be the most certain retention.

In the Silver category, Umair Afridi, Arif Yaqoob, and Mehran Mumtaz were available.

Karachi Kings Retained Players in PSL

For Karachi Kings, in the Platinum category, if David Warner is available, he will be the obvious first choice.

In the Diamond category, James Vince and Hasan Ali were present. Hasan Ali led the bowling attack and took the most wickets, making him a strong retention candidate.

In the Gold category, Karachi Kings had Shan Masood and Mohammad Irfan Khan. Although categories may change, Irfan Khan Niazi appears to have a better chance due to his fielding and power-hitting ability.

Multan Sultans PSL 11 Retained Players

Turning to Multan Sultans, in the Platinum category, Mohammad Rizwan stands out as the most likely retention.

Usman Khan appears to have a stronger chance of retention in Gold category. Multan may also consider Chris Jordan in the Gold category and Faisal Akram in the Silver category to complete their four retained players.

Lahore Qalandars Players

For Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Fakhar Zaman were part of the Platinum category. Shaheen Afridi is expected to be retained for LQ 2026 Squad, while Fakhar Zaman may change teams.

In the Diamond category, Haris Rauf is likely to be retained again, maintaining the Shaheen–Haris fast-bowling combination.

In the Gold category, Mohammad Naeem’s outstanding batting performances in the latter matches give him the edge.

In the Silver category, Syed Faridoun appears to be the best option.

Quetta Gladiators Retained Player List

Muhammad Air in platinum, while Suad Shakeel is the best choice in the Diamond category for QG.

In the Gold category, the contest is between Akeel Hussain, Saud Shakeel, and Mohammad Wasim Jr. While Mohammad Wasim Jr. may be considered.

In the Silver category, Khurram Shahzad and Usman Tariq are the available options.
