Franchises Reponses on Auction
The teams that are in favor of the auction include Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, and Quetta Gladiators, while Lahore Qalandars are still in favor of the draft system. Peshawar Zalmi has not yet given any response on this matter.
At present, these five franchises are either registered or assigned to owners on a contractual basis.
The two newly added franchises are not yet in a position to comment on this issue. However, reliable sources suggest that the PSL is inclined to move towards the auction system this time.
Whether PSL 11 follows an auction system or a draft system, one thing is certain: the league will not be the same as before and is entering a new era.
With the inclusion of two new teams, more players will get opportunities to compete at the top level. However, it is also expected that the PSL draft, which was scheduled for 30 January 2026, could be delayed further.
Multan Sultan Franchise Auction Can Delay PSL 11 Draft
One reason for this is the ongoing discussion around the auction or draft system. Secondly, The PCB has already announced the sale of Multan Sultans’ rights, and bidders can register for it before 30 January, which was originally the PSL draft date 2026.
Since bidder registration for the new owners of Multan Sultans is now open, there is a possibility that the PSL draft may be further extended.
However, the PSL 11 schedule is expected to remain largely the same, with the first match set to be played on 26 March.
