PSL 11 – New Contract in Rupees | First time Rupees Based Model for Right Teams
There’s some great news for Pakistan Super League (PSL) fans. A meeting was recently held between PSL CEO Salman Naseer and the league’s finance department, during which a major proposal was discussed: to revise the PSL’s valuation model and expand the number of franchises from six to eight. This could turn out to be one of the most significant decisions in PSL history.
These changes will directly impact the league, as PSL’s valuation is now being considered in Pakistani rupees instead of U.S. dollars. Another exciting development for fans is the potential inclusion of new teams. A long awaited step that could make the league even more competitive. This proposal is currently under review and will be finalized after the next official meeting.

Franchise Contract Valuation
As you know, the initial PSL franchise contracts (2015–2025) are coming to an end, which means it’s time to renegotiate new agreements. During this process, various proposals are presented, and franchises have the opportunity to raise their concerns before the final valuation is completed.
Now, this time the valuation is likely to be in Pakistani rupees and this move expected to benefit the franchises significantly.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer highlighted that as the league continues to grow in popularity, and franchise values are also increasing. It’s expected that under the new 10-year contracts, franchise values could rise by 25–30%. If current owners agree to these new terms, they’ll retain their teams. Otherwise, the franchises may go back to open bidding, allowing new investors to enter the league.
Once the valuation process is finalized and new contracts are signed between the franchises and the PSL, further negotiations will take place with broadcasters and media departments.
Only after that will the final PSL draft be announced and all related updates will continue to be shared with fans in due course.
