PSL 11 Matches Will Now Be Played in New Format
The PCB has announced an important change in the PSL schedule. According to this new format, in the upcoming PSL, each team will play one match against every other team. After this, Round Two will begin, in which the teams will be divided into two groups, with four teams in each group. This round will then move into the playoff or qualifier stage, where two teams from each group will qualify for the playoffs.
Previously, the PSL format allowed each team to play all other teams before moving directly to the playoff stage. However, the number of rounds has now been increased from two to three. At the same time, the number of matches per team will be slightly reduced compared to earlier seasons. Since two new teams have been added, continuing with the old format would have made the tournament too lengthy. Therefore, the PCB has introduced this new structure. Once PSL 2026 schedule is announced, you can see all the details here.
Under this format, PSL 2026 will consist of 44 matches and the tournament will be played over 39 days.
