South Africa Legend Player Likely to Miss PSL 2026 Due to Thumb Injury
South African legendary batter Faf du Plessis has been ruled out of the Pakistan Super League 2026 season due to a thumb injury.
The 41-year- batter, who is regarded as one of South Africa’s senior and experienced players, was expected to feature in the Pakistan Super League this year instead of the IPL.
However, due to his injury, Faf du Plessis will not be able to take part in PSL 2026 until he has fully recovered. He last participated in the Pakistan Super League in PSL 2021.
Faf Du Plessis PSL Career
So far, he has played two PSL seasons, representing Quetta Gladiator and Peshawar Zalmi.
Across those two seasons, he played five innings, scoring 107 runs at a strike rate of around 123. Faf du Plessis was seen enjoying and entertaining fans during his PSL appearances.
However, this time he will not be part of the Pakistan Super League, and until he makes a complete recovery, he will not participate in any other league either.
