PCB to Introduce Two New PSL Team Owners
The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to finalize the bidders who will participate in the auction for the two new teams today on 27 December 2025, while the final auction date has been announced as 8 January 2026, to be held at the Islamabad Convention Centre.
This year, the Pakistan Super League is being expanded to eight teams, and 14 interested candidates from different countries have shown interest in purchasing the remaining two franchises. One name that was previously shared is Inverex Solar Systems.
While another very strong contender has now emerged, the Arif Habib Group. The group is well known in Pakistan and internationally and has recently won PIA through an auction process. They believe they are strong candidates to be shortlisted and have shown interest in acquiring a franchise. They are currently being seen as a strong contender.
Cities would named for new teams are Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit.
It is worth noting that the PCB has prepared a basic plan for the two new PSL teams, with a base price set at PKR 1.3 billion per year. After the final announcement, details of the owners of the two new teams will be made public. It will then become clear who these new owners are and, through their names and company backgrounds, an idea will emerge about how the future of the two new PSL franchises may look.
