PCB take charge of Multan Sultans

Sultans Under New Command: The PCB Takes the Reins in Multan

This year, the PCB will temporarily take direct control of PSL 11. The franchise agreement of Multan Sultans is set to expire in December 2025. The agreement could not be extended with the current owners, which is why the PCB will manage Multan Sultans on its own for the 2026 season. In 2027, after one year, the franchise will again be handed over to new owners through an auction.

The current owner of Multan Sultans, Ali Tareen, is not interested in extending the franchise agreement further. Due to several issues, he raised concerns multiple times on social media, and several meetings were also held with the Pakistan Cricket Board to discuss these matters.

After these discussions, it was decided that once the agreement ends in December 2025, the PCB will take charge of Multan Sultans for PSL Edition 11. This control will be temporary for one year only, after which the franchise will be handed over to a new owner through an auction.
