PSL 11: Multan Sultans Team New Name – New Auction Overview

A decision was made to sell Multan Sultans, for which an auction was held today, 9 February, at 6 PM. After intense competition among five groups, the owner of Walee Tech, Ahsan Tariq, won the bid and acquired the franchise named Multan.

The final bid was placed at 24, while the franchise’s base price was set at 182 crore. This was shocking news for cricket fans and even for PCB officials, as it has now become the most expensive team in the Pakistan Super League. However, before this, the city Sialkot Stallionz was sold annually for 185 crore.

Another important development has come forward that completely surprised the fans. The new owners, Willy Tech, have decided that instead of keeping the prime side’s name as Multan Sultans or any other, they will form the team under the name of Rawalpindi.

This means that the legacy of Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League has now come to an end, and a new team will be formed under the name of Rawalpindi.
