PSL 2026: Player Rentention Deadline for existing and New Franchises
A major development has emerged in the Pakistan Super League, as all franchises have been given a deadline regarding player retentions. According to this announcement, the existing six teams that are already part of the PSL must submit the names of their retained players by 3 February and release the remaining players, who will then be available in the auction and can be picked by any team through bidding.
For the two newly added teams in the PSL, the deadline is 6 February, by which they can select their players through PSL direct signings. After this, on 11 February, each team will add players to its squad through the auction while following all prescribed rules.
The rules and regulations for retained players have already been discussed. Each team can retain a total of four players, with a maximum of one player from each category. All teams have also revealed the lists or names of their potential retained players, which can be seen here.
